Thursday Seminar
Every Thursday we have a slightly different bell schedule, where a 10th period is added to the middle of the day (see the 2008-09 bell schedule for details).
Period 10 is referred to as "Character Education" on your student's schedule, but you will hear it called "Thursday Seminar". It is a 20-minute class that every teacher in the building teaches at the same time. Each class has from 17 to 20 students, and the teachers have worked hard to develop the curriculum.
Although some of the material varies in each grade level, topics may include study skills, test-taking skills, bully prevention, goal setting, friendship, positive character traits, making positive choices, etc.
Attendance is taken and grades will be given. In addition, two different classes per week will be assigned Campus Cleanup, which will help beautify our campus, inside and out, so Hill is litter-free.
Finally, most information sent home from the office will be done via Thursday Seminar, so be sure to ask your student for any notices for the week (there may not be information every week).
