Scientific Explorations!

Earlier this year  Hill Campus of Arts and Sciences students got an opportunity to visit the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory in Boulder.

Upon arrival students attended a briefing on tsunamis followed by lesson on mapping the height and time of the 1960 earthquake and resulting tsunami in Chile. These students also learned to  map  the ocean floor with sonar and created tornados with a tornado machine. Students were also lucky enough to use their hands using weather instruments to create tornadoes and make clouds.
