The reason I became involved with DPS is my son started Steck in Kindergarten. I volunteered in the 3rd grade classroom for 3 years, then became a Teachers Aide and started my 46 year career with DPS. I worked at Steck, Carson & Palmer elementary schools for 11 years. I was hired at Hill to teach reading. I have helped teachers in Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Gym and Art.
I have been on the Social Committee twice, the first time for 10 years (I needed a break) and this last time for 13 years. I served for 3 years on the CDM Committee.
I now wear many hats…I help Pam Gamble, the 6th grade Special Ed. teacher, help in the main office, in Mr. Kitch’s office with filing, supervise 2 lunch duties and help Assistant Principal Theresa Dansky. I have been at Hill for 35 years!
When my husband died of cancer, my job was my salvation. It helped me through sad times and I learned not to think of myself.
