Hill Harvest Baskets
Harvest Baskets are an annual tradition at Hill where we support our community during the holidays. We are looking to feed 75 families this year. In addition, we are working hard to raise funds and stock a food pantry at Hill that can help beyond the holiday season. There are 2 ways to help! You can donate food or volunteer time and support.
Helping with Food Donations through our Grade Level Competition:
Nonperishable food items and grocery gift cards can be donated from November 3rd - November 18th by grade level. The winning grade level will win a grade level celebration!!
Points will be awarded as 1 food item = 1 point, and grocery store gift cards will be awarded for the face value of the gift card for instance $25 gift card= 25 points.
Nonperishable goods wish list: canned corn, canned green beans, pasta, rice, macaroni and cheese, cornbread mix, ramen, canned black beans/pinto beans, soup, canned tuna/chicken
If you are interested in receiving a Harvest Basket this year, please email Nurse Merri at merri_hoffman@dpsk12.net
Helping with Harvest Baskets &/or Food Pantry
We need volunteers to ensure our holiday tradition and food pantry can go smoothly for families. Our Harvest basket event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 22nd. After this date, we will be keeping our pantry open to distribute food to families building up to winter break. If you are willing to help us with this event or willing to be an ongoing volunteer, please use the following form to sign-up.

7th Grade Vision/Hearing/Dental Screening
Each year Denver Public Schools provides the opportunity for a free vision, hearing and dental screening for students in mandated grades (Early Childhood Education, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th). Screening is considered best practice to identify students who may be at risk for health concerns affecting their ability to learn. These free screenings are not an assessment or an evaluation and do not replace professional exams. Parents/guardians of students whose screening results fall outside the optimal range will be notified.
If you do not want your student to participate in these screenings please email the School Nurse, at merri_hoffman@dpsk12.net or call 720-423-9691.
