The Denver Public Schools Shakespeare Festival is an incredible opportunity for students to perform Shakespeare’s text and music of the time period downtown at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts with peers from all over the district! After working for months and auditioning for the Festival, students perform for parents, peers, and adjudicators from the DCPA, and they receive scores and feedback from professional artists. Congratulations our Theatre and Orchestra students who will be participating! This all-day event kicks off with a parade through the streets of downtown Denver, so wear sunscreen and good shoes!
Wish our very own Hill Band and Orchestra well as they perform in the adjudicated DPS Large Ensemble Festival! This competitive performance opportunity at Hamilton Middle School gives our students an opportunity to stretch their abilities, get invaluable feedback on their strengths and areas for improvement, and interact with fellow musicians. This field trip is free for all participating students, but they will need their parent’s signature on the permission slip. This field trip takes place during the school day, so students can ride their usual bus to and from school; no parent transportation is needed.
Each month, the school leaders will present a brief discussion on current events at Hill Campus of Arts and Sciences (HCAS), after which we enjoy an informal discussion time when you can voice questions about the overall operations of HCAS or just get to know our school leaders on a more personal level. This monthly event is a great way to stay plugged in to what’s going on with the school. We hope you’ll join us!
