Congrats to all of our former 8th grade students, teachers and staff for a successful continuation ceremony. From changes in leadership to a pandemic, they persevered and made it to the finish line commemorating their middle school careers! It was an amazing time celebrating with our Hill community and we wish much success to our now 9th grade students. Once a Skyhawk, always a Skyhawk!
All clubs for next week are cancelled, thank you to everyone who participated in social clubs. We truly appreciated it and are looking forward to next year!
All 6th and 7th grade students will be expected to attend school until our last day on May 28th. We will have a half-day for all students and host our LAST DRIVE UP ACADEMIC AND ATTENDANCE AWARD CEREMONY from 1pm-3pm. Emails will be sent out to families next week and RSVP is recommended! Cheers to a strong finish to the school year!
I am excited to announce that Assistant Principal of Student Supports Rashad Norman is beginning to embark on the next steps in his leadership journey. From the first moment that we chatted about opportunities to lead at McMeen, he has always been ready to jump in to do the work while also learning and growing. Mr. Norman has been there to support me both as colleague and a friend. I am so honored and thankful that he took a chance on me and followed me to HCAS. I wish Rashad nothing but the best, as he pursues the next level of leadership here in DPS.

It is indeed bittersweet to write that I will not be here at Hill next school year. I am currently in the process of finalizing multiple promotional leadership opportunities here in the Denver Public School Community. During my time in DPS, I have taken pride in advocating for students, staff, and families, while intentionally moving the needle on student achievement. At the conclusion of this school year, I will no longer serve in the role of Assistant Principal of Student Support at Hill. Having the pleasure of serving as an Assistant Principal for Principal Adams the past two years has been incredible; both at the elementary and middle school levels. This experience has gifted me with a phenomenal supervisor, coach, and friend. It is because of his coaching coupled with the great experiences with you all, that I am now ready to embark on the next level of my leadership journey.
Serving Hill has been the highlight of my time in DPS and Denver as a whole. Seeing the commitment, passion, and intentionally the staff exerts to support our students and families makes me excited to serve with you each and every day. I look forward to finishing this school year out strongly together. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Felicitaciones a todos nuestros ex alumnos de octavo grado, maestros y personal por una exitosa ceremonia de continuación. Desde cambios en el liderazgo hasta una pandemia, perseveraron y llegaron a la línea de meta conmemorando sus carreras en la escuela secundaria. Me complace anunciar que el subdirector de apoyo estudiantil, Rashad Norman, está comenzando a emprender los próximos pasos en su viaje de liderazgo. Desde el primer momento en que conversamos sobre oportunidades para liderar en McMeen, él siempre ha estado listo para hacer el trabajo mientras aprende y crece. El Sr. Norman ha estado allí para apoyarme como colega y como amigo. Me siento muy honrada y agradecida de que se arriesgara conmigo y me siguiera hasta HCAS. De hecho, es agridulce escribir que no estaré aquí en Hill el próximo año escolar. Actualmente estoy en el proceso de finalizar múltiples oportunidades de liderazgo promocional aquí en la Comunidad de Escuelas Públicas de Denver. Durante mi tiempo en DPS, me he enorgullecido de defender a los estudiantes, el personal y las familias, al tiempo que movía intencionalmente la aguja en el rendimiento de los estudiantes. Al final de este año escolar, dejaré de desempeñar el papel de subdirector de apoyo estudiantil en Hill. Tener el placer de servir como subdirector del director Adams durante los últimos dos años ha sido increíble; tanto en la escuela primaria como en la secundaria. Esta experiencia me ha otorgado un supervisor, entrenador y amigo fenomenal. Es gracias a su entrenamiento, junto con las grandes experiencias con todos ustedes, que ahora estoy listo para embarcarme en el siguiente nivel de mi viaje de liderazgo.
Servir a Hill ha sido lo más destacado de mi tiempo en DPS y en Denver en general. Ver el compromiso, la pasión e intencionalmente que el personal ejerce para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes y familias me emociona poder servir con ustedes todos los días.
