We are starting off strong!! Our teachers and staff did mini-lessons throughout the first weeks AND we met with each grade level every day for Culture Assemblies to norm on schoolwide routines. This ensures that students know how to safely and successfully navigate the school day and prioritize learning. During Weeks 2 & 3, 92% of classrooms observed had 100% of students on task! This is what we want to see, Skyhawks!!
ENGAGEMENT: Our attendance goal is 92%. We need students present and engaged each day to maximize learning. Students who miss multiple days of school are more likely to fall behind on key skills and content. We are excited to work with families to reach this goal this year.
EXCELLENCE: Interim Assessments will take place in October. Students should be on time and present each day. Encourage your students to try their absolute best so that our teachers can plan strong instruction based on what they know and what they still need to learn.
EQUITY: Each of us is VITAL to the success of our students. This year, we are challenging staff, students, and families to #BeTheVariable that positively impacts learning each day. We want EACH student to succeed. Try asking your student today how they were the variable in their learning and how you can be too!
This month, as you talk to your students about 2 key components of Hill Culture, Safety & Joy, remind them there is always a safe way to report if they hear or see something unsafe. Safe2Tell.org is an anonymous place to communicate with our admin team and Safety & Security.
Community Workshops: This is a chance for any and all community members to come and help solve a problem of practice throughout the school. This month, we will be focused on INCLUSION with an emphasis on asset-based language and seeking to understand those who are different than us. September 21st, 5:30 – 6:00 @ Hill Cafeteria
CSC: The CSC is an important part of Hill’s governance, and is comprised of parents, teachers, administration, and community members. ANYONE is welcome to join and provide feedback on key topics each quarter such as budgeting, staffing, academic models, etc. September 21st, 6:00 – 6:30 @ Hill Cafeteria.

Talleres comunitarios: esta es una oportunidad para que todos los miembros de la comunidad vengan y ayuden a resolver un problema de práctica en toda la escuela. CSC: El CSC es una parte importante del gobierno de Hill y está compuesto por padres, maestros, administración y miembros de la comunidad.
