Substance Use Prevention Lunchtime Learning Series
The DPS Substance Use Prevention Program invites you to attend our Lunchtime Learning Webinar Series. Webinars are hosted on the third Wednesday of every month at noon, facilitated by experts from the Denver community. These will also be available to view if you are not able to attend the live webinar. The first webinar will take place on October 21st and will address the protective factors in a child’s life that can help them thrive and prevent substance misuse. Wednesday, Oct. 21- Learn How to Prevent Youth Substance Misuse. Learn about the protective factors that you can provide your child to help them thrive and prevent substance misuse.
Wednesday, Nov. 18- Learn How to Combat the Impacts of Screen Time. Dr. Laura Anthony from the Pediatric Mental Health Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado will share insights on guiding children through today’s media landscape.
Wednesday, Dec. 16. Learn about Substance Use and the Adolescent Brain. Dr. Thurstone, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado, will provide facts about how substance use can affect the developing brain.
