Saturday School for 8th Graders

Join us for 8th Grade Saturday School October 4th from 8am-12pm. Saturday school is a great opportunity to make up attendance (students earn 5% for each hour they attend), catch up on classwork, or get ahead on your honors projects. All of this puts us on track for continuation eligibility!

We will be available to support you in a focused, quiet environment. Sign your student up on our sign up sheet. 

Fall Family Conferences

Date: Thursday, October 9th 

Times: 2:15 – 4:15 & 5:15 – 7:15

Format: Walk – In  (no appointment required)

  • Teachers will be in subject groups in different rooms throughout the building. (Maps will be provided upon entry so you know where to find each subject that you want to check in with!) This will allow for parents with multiple students to meet with both / all of their students’ math teachers, then all of their science teachers, and so on. 
  • We will be utilizing more spaces throughout the building this year to allow for less crowding and to combat the warmer temperatures. We are so grateful that conferences continue to serve more and more families each year!

School Photo Days

Students will take their 25-26 school photo on Oct. 6, 7, and 8. They will take their photo during their Science class on this schedule:

Oct 6 = Ms. Brillante’s & Mr. Schwartz’s classes

Oct 7 = Ms. Bessie’s & Ms. Cozzarin’s classes

Oct 8 = Ms. Kreske’s classes

Communicate With Teachers Using the DPS App

DPS  launched a new two-way messaging feature this school year: Rooms and the DPS app! Families can use the DPS app to communicate with teachers directly. To download and start using the app:

  • Download the Denver Public Schools app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Once installed, open the app, then tap “Rooms,” then “Continue to sign in.”
  • Type in your guardian email address or phone number.
  • If you typed in your email address, tap “Log in with code.” If you typed in your phone number, you will automatically receive a code. Type this code in when prompted.
  • You will be prompted to select your preferred communication language.
  • You will be automatically signed into your students’ Rooms.

Dance, Cheer and Majorette Club

Starting October 7th, we will have this club on Tuesdays from 4:15 to 5:15 in room 132. We hope to also rehearse outside and in the gym, when possible. Each week, the team will work on routines, with the hopes of presenting a showcase. Please see Mr. Mills with any questions.

Voco Choir Club

Hill is excited to be bringing an awesome modern choir club program to Hill on Tuesdays after school. If you love to sing, dance, were in choir last year or want to try something new, you don’t want to miss this opportunity. Tuesdays in room 130. Use this link to sign-up!

Journalism Club

Writers wanted! If you enjoy ELA class, have interest in non-fiction writing, and/or are a little bit nosey – we need you to write for our new online school newspaper. 

Due to popular demand, Journalism Club will begin meeting WEEKLY on Mondays after school (4- 5pm).  

Additional Information:

The new Hill newspaper ( to be named by the students) is a student-run online publication.
